The International Hansa Class Association is pleased to announce that the 2028 Hansa Class European Championships will be held in Brindisi, Italy. The event, organised by the team from GV3 (www.gv3.org) will be held from April 21st to 25th, 2028. Invited classes will be the Hansa 2.3, 303 singles and doubles and Liberty.
IHCA President, Vera Voorbach stated; “I am absolutely delighted that Brindisi will host the 2028 Hansa Class European Championships.
Brindisi promises to be a wonderful location for our European Championships. During our recent event in Barcelona, I had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with some members of the Brindisi organising team. Their enthusiasm, energy and commitment to hosting our Hansa community were immediately clear, and it was wonderful to hear about their plans and ambitions for 2028.
Our championships are about much more than racing alone. They bring together sailors, families, supporters and volunteers from many countries, all sharing the same passion for inclusive sailing. I have every confidence that Brindisi will provide a fantastic setting for that spirit and that together we can create another memorable Hansa Class European Championship.

President of GV3, Marco Miglietta responded; “We are delighted by the decision of the International Hansa Class Association to grant GV3 the honour of hosting the 2028 Hansa Class European Championships, and we sincerely thank the Association for its trust.
Inclusive sailing is the reason our club was founded. We believe in the power of sailing to bring people together, beyond all barriers.
Having hosted a stage of the Italian Hansa 303 Championship in both 2025 and 2026, we see the European Championships as a challenging but significant milestone in our journey.
