The IHCA is contacting all SKUD 18 Owners, Sailors & Coaches to effect a change in the class rules and seek nominations for the SKUD 18 Committee
SKUD 18 Class Rules
The SKUD 18 is being included in the 2017 Para World Sailing Championships in Kiel during June and the Para World Sailing Committee is interested in seeing the boat sailed in competition with one crew being able to transfer instead of restricted to a centreline seat. A revised version of the Class Rules has now been prepared for voting by the owners. In summary, the changes include:
– References to ISAF and IFDS have been updated
– C.1.1.b has been removed as it caused a conflict with RRS 42
– C.2.1.e has been updated to provide for a transferring crew not using trapeze under J5
– C.5.1.a.2 has been revised in order to clarify the types of compasses permitted (Rio2016 wording used)
– C.9.8.b.13 has been added to permit a strop to assist the crew release the battens (Rio2016 wording used)
– H.1.2 Parts List has been amended to clarify the combination of battens and sails permitted (Rio2016 wording used)
– J.4 has been amended and J.5 has been added to permit the crew to hike
Please see the revised Class Rules attached with changes to the existing 2014 Rules marked in red.
