The International Hansa Class Association is authorized by World Sailing to conduct one World Championship each year in each of its classes (currently the Hansa 2.3, Hansa 303 and Liberty). The IHCA aims to hold a combined World Championship every two years, including SKUD 18 International Championships where practicable.
Regional Championships for Europe, North America & Asia-Pacific are conducted in the intervening years. With the authority of the IHCA, International Championships can also be conducted independently or as part of a Hansa Class National Championships.
A process has been established to seek expressions of interest from host clubs wishing to conduct Hansa Class World, Regional & International Championships. See the Race Management Guide available below. An Event Management Guide is also available for all off-water requirements.

Hi Jun. The Hansa Worlds are held every 2 years. The last one was in 2018 in Hiroshima. The next one will be in 2020 in California. In 2019, there will be regional championships in Asia and Europe.

NoR’s all seem to require financial membership in IHCA or national class. The USA doesn’t seem to currently have an organized class association to join. I don’t see anywhere on this website a way how to join IHCA. How does one satisfy that requirement?

Hi Michael – We will take care of that at the event itself. There is a form to fill in and a cost of $10 which can be paid at the event.
