BISC Sailing Events Manager, Carlos Motta, issued this statement to competitors – “Welcome to our city!! We are very excited to announce the organization of the 2026 Hansa 303 European Championship – Kakapo Open Race at the Barcelona International Sailing Center.

At the center, we are really focused on Para Inclusive Sailing, with a specific training program in Hansa 303 Class, that is attracting a lot of new sailors, and with the organization of the Kakapo Open Race, that will see her second edition this year.

Barcelona is known for its excellent weather and sailing conditions—warm, reliable winds and calm waters, which should make for great racing. It will be a fantastic opportunity for competitive sailors all around the world.

Plus, when you’re not on the water, there’s so much to explore in the city. You can check out iconic landmarks like the Sagrada Familia, stroll down Las Ramblas, or enjoy some delicious tapas at one of the many fantastic restaurants. With the facilities at the sailing center, it should be a top-tier experience all around.”
