A very nice celebration of sailing and inclusion throughout the weekend in Lorient La Base.
The 2024 France Handivalide Double Championship and the National Hansa solo took place throughout this Pentecost weekend.
94 double-handed crews from all over France and some from abroad (Sweden, Switzerland, Monaco) competed in the harbour of Lorient for 4 days. 6 rounds have been validated in the France Championship.
The weather was also good throughout the competition despite a few calm moments in terms of wind (Saturday and Sunday morning) and some thunderstorms and bad weather which are specific to the Lorient region.
This did not disturb the very good atmosphere on the water and on land between all the competitors, the members of the organization and the volunteers.
In terms of results, Timothée CHIRON and Tom PERICA from the ASCE Voile Espar club in the Ile de France Region won this 2024 France Handivalide Double Championship.
The crew of Gauthier BRIL (ANCRE) / Camille MASSONNAUD (CVAN Nantes) in 2nd place and the crew of Cécile VENUAT / Macime SCHWARTZ in 3rd position completed the podium.
At the level of the National Hansa Solo, Éric PHILISPART (ASCE Voile Espar) won the competition ahead of Bril GAUTHIER (ANCRE) and Timothé CHIRON (ASCE Voile Espar)
Congratulations to all the competitors for their performances over these 4 days of racing.
We will also note the very nice atmosphere throughout the weekend, whether on the water or on land. The crews’ meal, which took place on Sunday evening in a very festive atmosphere, was the highlight of the weekend.
The regatta ended with the prize-giving ceremony, during which all the sailors received a prize and were cheered by the entire crowd under the central marquee.
A big congratulations to all the delegations who were present, to the members of the organization and to all the volunteers (80 in total on the water and on land) without whom the event could not have taken place.
Thank you to the Brittany Region, the Morbihan Department, Lorient Agglomeration, the City of Lorient and Sellor for their help.
Thank you also to the various partners (Guy Cotten, Harmonie Mutuelle, Cabesto, RTE, Thalos, Radio Océane) as well as to all the sponsors who worked to ensure that the event ran smoothly.
