Lighter conditions on Day 2 in Meze

by IHCA (as translated from French)

Despite a rather weak wind and a little unstable, several races could be validated under the resplendent sun of Mèze. Hansa Double and Hansa 2.3 had the honor of starting the races early in the morning. They were able to race in a slightly unstable 8-10 knot wind at 5 knots late in the morning. The committee managed to complete two races for these two divisions but was forced to cancel the third for lack of wind.

In the early afternoon, it is the Liberty and Hansa 303 singles that went on the water to race. Unfortunately, a too weak wind and repeated general recalls will have allowed the validation of only one race for the Hansa 303 and two for the Liberty.

Enrique Vives, Spanish sailor in Hansa 303 singles and doubles is a little frustrated with this day of weak wind: “It was very difficult on the water today because the wind conditions were very weak. In the middle of the Hansa 303 race the wind stopped blowing and they had to shorten the course. So we could do one lap, which is a bit frustrating. This morning in Hansa double it was a little better because there was more wind, but yesterday it was even better! I did 5 th with strong wind in singles!

In any case the place is really beautiful. I come from Spain from a place called Murcia on the Mar Minor which is really similar to Mèze and the pond of Thau! ”

At the end of the day’s sailing, competitors will enjoy a wine and oyster tasting party and a radio controlled sailing demonstration, always in joy and good humor!
